Event Description
Moving to Denmark, many internationals expect to manage with English
- but is it really enough?
Together, we will have a look at the challenges of living in Denmark without speaking Danish and how the culture is reflected in the language.
We cover:
- When and where English is enough - and when it is not.
- How the Danish language influences workplace and social dynamics.
- Why Danes communicate the way they do - and how to navigate it.
Language is more than words - it's also culture
Many expats are surprised by how direct Danes can be in conversations. Sometimes we may even seem unfriendly. But is it rudeness? Or just a different way of communicating? That’s what we will discuss in this 2-hour interactive workshop with Mikkel Ahlburg from AB Danish.
Light snacks will be served during the workshop.
